Heat Your Home with Optimal Efficiency

Heating in Long Beach, CA , may not be as hot a topic as air conditioning. Summer weather is just more extreme than our winters are. But that is definitely no excuse for excusing problems with your home heating system. And that includes unusually high heating costs! If you’re paying too much for your heating when you use it, it doesn’t really matter how much you use it.

Heating doesn’t come for free, but it shouldn’t be a financial drain, either. In today’s blog post, we are going to look at some of the ways in which you can help to keep your home heating costs in check. When temperatures are too cold for comfort, we want you to reach for the thermostat without fear of the bill that is going to be coming your way next month.

Use Your Ceiling Fans

Wait, what? We’re talking heating, not cooling. Yes, we know.  And that’s the point. Too many homeowners associate their ceiling fans with cooling things down. And way too many fail to realize that these fans have settings that allow them to reverse the direction in which their fans rotate.

Remember, fans don’t actually cool your home down in the summer. They just help to circulate air.  And they can do the same in the winter, when you’re running your heater. Hot air will rise up to the ceiling. By putting your fans on the winter setting and running them, you help to force that heated air back down into your living space.

Change Your Air Filter

This is one of the easiest ways in which you can protect the overall energy efficiency with which you heat your home. It is one of the most cost-effective, too. And it is definitely one of the most overlooked. Please , change your air filters as needed. Typically, this means every 1-3 months. We’ll do it during your tune-up, but twice a year just isn’t enough.

When your filter is too dirty, it creates too much airflow resistance. That increases strain on the system, causing it to use more energy to heat your home. It can also cause the system to overheat and short cycle, which just wastes more energy. You can avoid this with a few dollars and literally just a few minutes of your time spent on swapping the filter out.

Speaking of Tune-ups…

…schedule them.

Seriously.

There is no better way in which to keep your heater in optimal working condition than by scheduling annual heating maintenance. And there is no better way in which to keep your system as efficient as possible than by keeping it in optimal working condition. We offer outstanding heating maintenance services that keep heaters working as efficiently, effectively, reliably, and safely as possible.  Don’t miss out on the many, many benefits that professional heating maintenance has to offer.
